A CONSUMER group which was set up to improve relations between Condor and the public has met for the first time.

The Condor Jersey Consumer Group, which is made up of a range of ferry passengers, including individuals and sports groups, was founded to discuss with the operator’s senior management issues such as customer care and reliability.

Paul Luxon, Condor’s newly appointed chief executive, attended the first of the monthly meetings on Wednesday and spoke to the group about the Frequent Traveller Club, which offers rewards for regular travel.

The Consumer Council hopes the group will enable passengers to formally raises issues about the services provided by Condor Ferries, who have faced repeated criticism in the last year over the reliability of their crossings and their customer services.
