Primary and secondary school pupils have carried out 100 assaults on teachers, teaching assistants, key workers and lunchtime supervisors in the past three academic years.
This equates to an average of almost 34 assaults – one every 5.61 days – during an academic year.
There have also been around 462 pupil-on-pupil attacks within the same time period, according to figures released to this newspaper in a freedom of information request.
