Island’s foster carers are recognised at new awards

From celebrating the work of new foster parents to those that provide respite care, the awards were designed to recognise the important part carers play in the lives of the children who have been placed in their care.

A total of 150 nominations were received by the Fostering and Adoption Team at Health and Social Services across eight categories.

The top award went to Phil and Pauline Graham for the outstanding contribution they have made to the lives of the children that they have looked after and following the ceremony at the Radisson Blu Hotel on Saturday, Health Minister Andrew Green said that all the nominees were winners, regardless of whether they had won an award.
