Cannabis smuggler names boss

Richard Clark – a serial criminal with previous convictions for aggravated burglary and robbery – was arrested after Customs officers discovered the stash hidden in his car at the Harbour following a ferry crossing.

And after admitting his full involvement in the plot, the 50-year-old took the unusual step of revealing the identity of the organiser – a former cell mate – and even offered to name him in court through his advocate.

In recognition of Clark’s compliance, the Royal Court on Thursday reduced the sentence being asked for by the Crown by 12 months, jailing him for five years.
