GALLERY: Liberation Day 2016

Events began with a breakfast at the Town Hall for those who lived through the Second World War, and later in the day the annual Slave Workers’ Memorial took place at Westmount.

During the morning the traditional commemorative ceremony was held in Liberation Square, followed by a 1940s-themed event at the Weighbridge during the afternoon, which included food stalls and entertainment.

Don’t miss nine pages of Liberation Day coverage in Tuesday’s JEP, including comprehensive reports and numerous photographs from the day.
