Johnathon Lucas Ambrose (41) was found in the back of his car at a private property in St Mary at about 9.40 pm on Saturday.
Police are now investigating the circumstances surrounding his death, which they have described as ‘unexplained’.
Detective Inspector Stephen Langford said: ‘A report is being prepared for the Deputy Viscount and arrangements are now in hand for a Home Office pathologist to travel to the Island on Tuesday for a Post Mortem.
