Questions on civil service travel costs

Treasury Minister Alan Maclean will also be asked a series of questions over last year’s States’ underspend of £25 million, plans to launch a ‘tax amnesty’ in the Island, and whether budget targets set by his department are likely to be met.

During question time, Senator Gorst will be asked whether the Avios (air miles) points built up by civil servants while travelling on official business are returned to the States, and, if not, what he plans to do to address the matter and Senator Maclean will also be asked why underspent money is not being used to help the Island’s poorest people, and also how much money he expects to recoup from the tax amnesty.
