Charity footballers put mental illness issues in the spotlight

James Bailey died on 21 January this year, aged 22, and his best friend, Brett Coombs-Goodfellow, organised the charity football match to raise money for Mind Jersey and to raise awareness of the problems of mental illness, particularly among young men.

Nearly 400 people watched the match between a Victoria College XI and a De La Salle XI at Springfield on Saturday, with Victoria College running out 5-3 winners.

Mr Coombs-Goodfellow said he was delighted with the turn-out and the amount of money they managed to raise.
