HE may have been the size of a can of Coke when he was born, but Durrell’s newest bear cub is growing quickly and revealing his playful side in the process.
The three-month-old Andean bear cub has ventured out of his specially built den for the first time and his antics have been caught on camera.
As his mum, five-year-old Bahia, has been keeping a close eye on her newborn – which is the first healthy bear to be born at the wildlife park for 20 years – keepers have only just discovered that he is a male.
However, the cub – which is currently teething – still has not been named because the wildlife park is planning to run a competition about what to call him, with details due to be released shortly.
