Ban this vicious breed!

Hank, a seven-year-old greyhound, was attacked by a dog believed to have been a Staffordshire bull terrier and it took the strength of six people to pull the dog off.

Hank was taken for emergency surgery at New Era Veterinary Hospital on Friday morning after the attack in St Saviour, near Plat Douet School and after the dog was sedated and injected with painkillers, the wounds were stitched up and the pet is now on a course of painkillers and antibiotics.

Hank’s owners, Tony and Lesley Michael, of St Saviour, have now called for more to be done to protect Islanders and their pets from dangerous dogs.
