New awards to honour foster carers

The first Jersey Foster Carers Awards, which will be hosted by the Health Department’s fostering and adoption team, are due to be held on 14 May.

Islanders have now been asked to nominate a foster carer who they think deserves to be recognised.

The awards night will take place at the Radisson Blu Hotel and poet Lemn Sissay, a published author and poet who was the official poet of the London 2012 Olympics and who was a foster child in the UK will give a motivational speech and read a selection of his poems at the event.
