GALLERY: Walkers raise funds to help dog rescue home hit by fire

The event was held to help the Jersey Rescue Dogs organisation, which lost three lurchers and a greyhound in a blaze caused by a faulty smartphone charger.

Around 200 people and 150 dogs walked from The Kiosk at Bel Royal to St Aubin’s Café and back and raised £1,952 for the charity, which is run by Alison Le Feuvre and John Garnier on St Aubin’s Road.

Dog owners Barbara Keywood and Zeffrienne D’Ulivo-Rogers, with the help of veterinary physiotherapist Lorna Macnee, organised the event and Miss Keywood, who became a friend of Mrs Le Feuvre and her organisation after making inquiries about rehoming a dog around 18 months ago, said the walk had been a great success.
