Month’s worth of rain already recorded for February

By early afternoon on Friday, 92 mm of rain had fallen – well above the 30-year average for the whole month of 70.8 mm.

And more wet weather is forecast during the next few days, before it turns drier but colder by the end of the weekend – maximum daytime temperatures in the first half of next week are expected to be no higher than between 6°C and 8°C, with possible night-time ground frosts.

The soggy February has followed the wettest January on record, during which 190.9 mm of rain fell on the Island.
