Six homes and a restaurant planned for St Brelade’s Bay

Under the proposals, which will be formally presented to Islanders at a public meeting next month, two houses and four apartments would be built on the current car park of the Wayside Café, which itself would be redeveloped as a new restaurant.

A pavement would be added on the Mont Sohier side, a lizard sanctuary would be established and access to the Conway Tower would be opened up to enable people to walk around the building, while Jono’s Watersports shop would not be affected by the proposed development.

The plans, which have not yet been submitted, are being put forward by Peter Vincenti, who bought the land for £5 million last year, meanwhile work continues at the former Zanzibar site in the bay, which is due to become a multi-million-pound home on the seafront.
