£865,000 work to repair Fish Market roof is completed

Carpenters, builders and engineers have spent around nine months at the site, which remained open to shoppers, carrying out work which has brought more light into the historic building.

It follows work to repair the roof of the Central Market which finished six years ago, and further improvements are planned to refurbish the flooring at both sites.

States Architect Barry Freeman said that the Fish Market’s roof had warped and that wood in parts of the structure had become rotten.
