200 passengers stranded at sea

The vessel left St Malo at around 1 pm French time on Thursday and had been due to arrive in Jersey at 1.20 pm local time.

However, it was working to a tight schedule and trying to arrive on an outgoing tide and subsequently missed its slot.

The ferry was then forced to wait in St Aubin’s Bay while a decision was made about whether it would continue on to Guernsey or remain until it could dock safely.

It is aiming to arrive into Jersey at 4.50 pm and the return journey to St Malo is due to depart on time at 5.40 pm.
