Hannah Witheridge (23), from Norfolk, was raped and killed by two Burmese migrants on the island of Koh Tao in 2014.
Her body was found close to that of the 24-year-old former Victoria College student shortly after the attack.
In a statement read during an inquest into Miss Witheridge’s death, her mother, Susan Witheridge (58), said: ‘The family had always been against Hannah going on the trip and tried to persuade her out of it.’
