JEP presses ahead with the latest newspaper technology

Engineers took delivery of 43 huge crates at a warehouse at Rue des Prés, St Saviour, this week, before starting to piece together the 27-metre-long machine, the first of two Prosper 6000p printers that will be installed at the site.

The JEP’s parent company, Guiton, has entered into a partnership with Kodak by forming a new company, KPS Ltd, which has created more than 20 jobs in Jersey as part of the process.

KPS will print the national newspapers for Jersey and Guernsey as well as the Jersey Evening Post – replacing the current mechanical press.
