Visiting dolphin still at home in Harbour

Jersey Seafaris and a boat from the States Fisheries Department tried to encourage the creature out to deeper water at least twice, but the dolphin swam back after a short time.

The dolphin was monitored over the weekend and a small group of dedicated Islanders will continue to keep an eye on it as the high winds and rough seas of storm Imogen continue to batter the Island.

Experts, who are yet to decide whether it is a common or bottlenose dolphin, have again issued a plea for Islanders to leave the animal alone and have reported that one person was seen feeding it cod over the weekend.

However, the animal has been described as being in good spirits and was also seen feeding naturally at the marina.
