Take care on your Monday morning journey to work – possible coastal flooding and road closures on the way

Red flood and wind warnings have already been issued for Monday, and several States departments and the Jersey Met Office met on Sunday afternoon to prepare for flooding in low lying areas during the high tides at 6.05 am and 6.30 pm.

In a statement, the States police said: ‘Please take this as advanced notice that Havre des Pas, Victoria Avenue and Beaumont may see traffic disruption if we need to divert traffic/close roads.

‘Please ensure that you allow plenty of time for your journey tomorrow and take care.

‘Please don’t place yourselves in danger by wave watching on coastal roads – this is extremely dangerous and ill-advised.’

Winds are expected to hit severe gale force nine tomorrow as Storm Imogen crosses the British Isle tomorrow.
