Missing Adrian: Eight police officers still working on case

The former Les Quennevais student’s last known movements were captured on CCTV as he walked south past the Thistle Grove commercial estate on Grand Route de St Laurent at 2.17 am on Saturday 5 December – two months ago.

A specialist dog search unit from the UK spent four days combing areas of thick undergrowth this week, concentrating on the areas around Handois and Dannemarche reservoirs.

Eight officers, supported by admin staff and analysts, remain on the case and have begun reinterviewing witnesses. The team has also reissued calls for anyone who was in the Carrefour Selous area of St Lawrence between 2 am and 6 am on Saturday 5 December to contact them.

Last week the unit was visited by a senior investigating officer adviser and a missing-persons adviser from the National Crime Agency who discussed the progress of the search.

Detective Chief Inspector Lee Turner described the visit as ‘extremely valuable’, adding that the specialist advisers had made several recommendations, while also agreeing that Mr Lynch’s disappearance was unlikely to have involved a third party.

Det Chief Insp Turner said the UK advisers spoke about the value of learning when witnesses in St Lawrence had not seen the missing 20 year old.
