A total of 1,161 people responded to a JEP poll asking on which of the four shortlisted sites the new hospital should be built, with 37 per cent voting for the Waterfront option, which includes land next to the Radisson Hotel and on Jardins de la Mer.
Redeveloping the existing site received 33 per cent of the vote while Overdale and the controversial option to build on the People’s Park both received 15 per cent.
The poll came a day after the minister announced plans for a public consultation on the four options.
Following a meeting last night Senator Green has promised that if a clear option emerges from the public consultation, he will propose it as the preferred site. He said he trusted the public to weigh up all the facts and make the right decision.
