Guernseyman to take over as Condor’s new chief executive

It was announced last month that Guernsey’s Health Minister Paul Luxon will take over as chief executive of the ferry operator from 1 May this year, when his present term of office expires.

The position was last occupied by James Fulford, who left in September 2014.

Condor has been beset with problems during the past year, including a high number of cancelled crossings and technical issues with its new £50 million boat, the Liberation.

Mr Luxon was managing director of the Channel Islands’ largest food and drinks distribution firm, Cimandis, until 2011 and has worked with a number of businesses in Jersey and Guernsey. He has lived in the Channel Islands for more than 25 years.
