Historic St Helier workshop to be sold to raise funds for Island’s elderly

Jersey Property Holdings has submitted plans to restore, repair and renovate the Le Seelleur Oxford Road workshop next to the Millennium Town Park.

If the plan is approved, the organisation will sell the site with planning permission, with the funds of the sale being used by the Health Department.

The building, along with nine others, was bequeathed to the States in 1996 following the death of well-known builder Harold Ernest Le Seelleur. He left the properties to the States, saying in his will that the units, or the money generated from them, were to be used to help the ‘aged, infirm and needy residents of the Island’.
