Young chef Megan wins through to district final

Year 10 student Megan McDonagh won both the Jersey Dairy Trophy and the Genuine Jersey Trophy, the latter of which entails students making dishes using only locally sourced produce.

The Channel Islands leg of the national event was held in the kitchen of Les Quennevais School and was described by Rotary Club organiser Bob Marshall as a huge success.

Among Megan’s winning dishes was fillet of sea bass on a bed of local winter vegetable ratatouille which she served with Hasselback Jersey new potatoes.
