Gallery: Central School of Dance annual show

The school presented three performances of this year’s production, It’s Showtime!, at the Jersey Arts Centre.

The theme for the show was music from the movies and included a range of songs and sets such as the Lion King, Braveheart, Walking in the Air and many more. Performers aged from four to 18 years old took part, and choreographer Liz Robinson was delighted with the production.

‘It was a fantastic show this year,’ she said, ‘with the whole school taking part, from the tiny Tiggers to the senior ballet en pointe. 140 pupils took part and there were over 250 costumes to organise, as many were in several routines.

‘We had tap-dancing penguins, snowmen, angels, fairies and bugs and dramatic contemporary pieces too. It was a lovely happy atmosphere.’

The choreography was by Liz Robinson, Naomi Buckley and Laura Cooper, and the shows were narrated by Pat Buckley. The sound manager was Dave Cheetham, with the stage management by Jason Kenyon.

A retiring collection in aid of Parkinson’s raised £100.
