Nightlife: Country musician Frankie promises a mixture of old and new for homecoming gig

The country musician will be performing her first show in front of a Jersey crowd since April following her hit European tour alongside American chart-topper Chris Young.

Frankie, who is also due to release her new single, Dancing All Night, imminently, said that she is excited to be returning home.

‘I love coming back to Jersey – it’s home for me.

‘You can’t beat performing in your home town.

‘I’ll be performing new and old songs along with my band, but I’ll also be performing solo with a few new songs I’ve written recently – and I’ve got a few surprises in the set too,’ she said.

The event is open to under-18s, provided they are accompanied by an adult, and Frankie said that making the gig accessible to fans of all ages was vital for her.

‘It is incredibly important to me.

‘It’s something I’ve been very determined to do, as I know I have younger fans, and I’m glad The Drift could help us in organising an all ages event,’ she said.

Speaking about the new single, Dancing All Night, Frankie said that she is delighted with the end product and added that she enjoys hearing what her material means to different people.

‘Dancing All Night was a song I wrote with my parents in mind – they were the inspiration behind this song.

‘My dad thinks he’s Mick Jagger when he dances and my mum is just so full of energy, so naturally I just had to put them in a song.’

During the European tour Frankie performed in London, Glasgow, Dublin, Munich, Cologne, Berlin and Stockholm and sold out every venue.

She said it was an amazing experience and it has given her a taste of what she can achieve in music if she works hard.

‘Chris is one hell of a performer.

‘Every single night he would give 100 per cent to his audience, and his vocals were completely flawless, which blew me away.

‘Chris, his whole band and team were so kind and made me feel very welcome, which is so rare, especially as his album is number one in the US country music charts this week.’

Terry Francis to play at Rojo’s on Saturday

DANCE music fans rejoice Rojo’s is welcoming two internationally recognised DJs on Saturday.

Fabric’s resident turntablist Terry Francis makes a rare break from the London club to travel to the Island and perform at Rojo tomorrow.
