GALLERY: Something for everyone at the Fort

There were live demonstrations of a number of sports, including gymnastics, judo, kickboxing, squash, swimming, karate and shooting and exercise classes such as spinning, zumba and pilates.

Fort for all Day was opened by Team GB Olympic gymnast Daniel Keatings, who later in the day gave a talk about preparing for next year’s Olympic Games in Rio, and the centre’s mascot, Humfrey the lion.

The Jersey Island Games shooting team also took part to show Islanders the 20 medals they won at the games in June.

Throughout the day there was live entertainment and children’s activities in the piazza and events taking place in the Queen’s Hall, on the balconies above and in the Gloucester Hall.

The day was not just about sport and exercising, there was also range of family and cultural activities.
