Man rescued after Minquiers fall

The all-weather lifeboat crew, which was called out at about 5 pm, used a small boat carried on board the vessel to go onshore with a stretcher.

The man, who was being cared for by others on the reef, was brought back to St Helier and taken to hospital.

Meanwhile, on Thursday evening, the all-weather lifeboat towed a French sailing boat with seven people on board back to St Helier after its engine became tangled in fishing gear about four miles north-west of Grosnez.
