Police were called to the scene at the foot of La Haule Hill after a collision between a white Ford Transit van and a green Volkswagen Polo at just after 7 am.
The drivers – a 41 –year-old man and 24-year-old woman – were treated at the scene but not taken to hospital.
Islander Alvin Elvy, who works for Andium Homes, said he saw the aftermath of the crash.
‘There appears to be a van that has been trying to turn right up La Haule Hill and there has been a car coming the other way and it has hit into it. I was there about 7.40 am and there did not appear to be anybody in the vehicles. There was a lollipop man and the police were there directing traffic onto the otherside of the road. There was lots of traffic back up to the village – it was rush hour.’
The road was cleared at around 8.30 am.
