Island sends message of congratulations following birth of Princess

The Bailiff, William Bailhache, sent warm wishes to Prince William and Kate on behalf of the Island and ordered that flags be flown to mark the birth of their daughter, who is fourth in line to the throne.

He also sent a message to Price Charles to commemorate the birth of his second grandchild.

In his message to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Mr Bailhache said: ‘The Lieutenant Governor, Bailiff, States and people of Jersey join together to send your Royal Highnesses their warmest congratulations and good wishes on the occasion of the birth of your daughter on 2 May 2015.

‘The people of Jersey rejoice and celebrate on this very special occasion and take this opportunity of offering their most loyal affection to your Royal Highnesses.

‘They pray that your daughter will be blessed with many years of fulfilled life, good health and great happiness, and will bring much joy and pleasure to your Royal Highnesses in the years ahead.’
