Constable John Refault was responding to a question from Deputy Jackie Hilton on Tuesday, who asked if the oncology department was understaffed and under-resourced.
Her question came days after the JEP revealed that some Islanders were waiting longer than expected for treatment following a sharp rise in the number of patients being dealt with by the department in the last year.
