During all that time, the restaurant has received only one local application – from a woman who was told it was a cleaning job.
Senator Paul Routier, Assistant Chief Minister with responsibility for population, said: ‘These decisions are being made on a regular basis and applications are unlikely to be granted unless it is deemed to be exceptionally high value economically or socially.
‘There is a procedure if you are not satisfied by the result, which I am sure the owners have been informed about.’
