And Saturday night’s headline act Ellie Goulding was expected to draw the biggest crowd on the main stage.
The multi-award winning singer-songwriter, famous for tracks such as the number one hit ‘Burn’, was bringing down the curtain on day one of the festival.
Other acts includes Brit Award nominee John Newman, American funk group Earth Wind and Fire’s frontman Al Mckay and dreadlocked folk-rock singer Newton Faulkner.
Festival-goers were told to expect less-than summery weather on Saturday, with cloud and light drizzle expected in the early afternoon.
But conditions were expected to clear with some fairer periods in the evening.
