Anyone who has a smartphone such as Samsung Galaxy, iPhone 5 or an iPad will be able to access the new technology on their current device.

The new high speeds are set to revolutionise how Islanders access the internet with speeds that will be many times faster than can be accessed currently thorough the existing 3G networks.

The Channel Islands Competition and Regulatory Authorities announced yesterday that it had awarded spectrum licences to Airtel-Vodafone, JT and Sure.
