Fly ash is what is left after burning rubbish at the energy-from-waste plant and is considered hazardous meaning that all ash has to be safely shrink-wrapped and bagged before being sent to the UK.
Presently, there are around 15,000 tonnes of fly ash waiting to be shipped to Peterborough.
