Boat Show attracts thousands to marina

Last year around 38,000 people attended the show and organisers believe that a similar number – if not more – attended this weekend’s event, which was raising money for Holidays for Heroes Jersey and the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity.

Running throughout the Bank Holiday weekend, the show took place both in and around St Helier Marina and featured more than 60 vessels on the water, ranging from superyachts to more practical water craft, all of which were open to the public to step aboard.

The Royal Navy also had a number of vessels in the show, as well as a static display at the Weighbridge which included a Royal Navy Lynx helicopter.

During the weekend visitors could also take part in a wide variety of water and land based activities, including a charity bungee jump in aid of Jersey Hospice Care and the Education Fund for Luweero Orphans in Uganda.
