But, the committee chaired by Deputy Jeremy Maçon does not support the Alderney approach of a direct presidential vote by electors to choose the speaker.
The committee, which has lodged additional comments to a proposition from St Helier Constable Simon Crowcroft to remove the Bailiff as president of the States, also believes there is no need to replace any politician appointed as speaker.
