Clean bill of health

Twelve out of the 15 beaches in Jersey judged – including Grève de Lecq and St Ouen – were ranked as MCS Recommended, which means that they have excellent water quality.

St Brelade got the second highest mark possible as it was ranked as Guideline, meaning it has higher water quality than the mandatory standards.

Meanwhile, Bonne Nuit and Bouley Bay met the mandatory standards.

But St Sampson’s in Guernsey was one of only 14 beaches across the UK to fail as it did not meet the minimum water quality standard.
