Spellbinding Swan Lake

The Moscow City Ballet delivered a spellbinding performance of Swan Lake at the Opera House on Wednesday night.

Despite a slightly disappointing turnout for the opening show of the company’s five-night run in Jersey, the ballerinas were on song throughout their rendition of Tchaikovsky’s classic masterpiece.

A 27-piece orchestra in the pit allowed the Opera House to be enjoyed as it was intended, with a full sound echoing round the walls of the old building and providing that all-important sense of occasion.

The Moscow City Ballet are at the Opera House until Sunday 23 February. Swan Lake runs until Friday, with The Nutcracker being performed for the remaining nights.
