THE Christmas ice rink in Parade Gardens was due to open at 10 o’clock this morning after being delayed for three days because of problems with freezing the rink.

IceSkate Jersey had been due to open on Friday evening but was unable to because half the rink had not frozen properly.

The organisers had hoped that it would be ready in time to open on Sunday morning but the ice was still not ready, but co-promoter Trudie Halstead said this morning that the problems had all been resolved and that the rink would be opening at 10 o’clock.

She said that if anyone had bought advance tickets for the days when the rink wasn’t open, they would be valid to use on another day, or people could get a refund.

The rink will remain open until Sunday 6 January and is open daily – except for Christmas Day – from 10 am to 10 pm.
