THOUSANDS of people lined the streets of town yesterday evening to enjoy the annual Christmas Battle of Flowers parade.

The festive version of the summer carnival is now in its eighth year and around 20 floats were given a seasonal makeover.

Launched in 2005, The Spectacular Parade is now one of the highlights of the Fête dé Noué. Yesterday's light drizzle was nothing compared to the heavy downpours of last year so a significantly larger crowd lined the route from the Waterfront down to Liberation Square and along the Esplanade.

Well with all the doom and gloom that is around at the moment I have to say a MASSIVE THANKYOU! to all that was involved with this. We went with our 3 year old son and he absolutely loved it. The hours that go into that at this time of year was VERY much appriciated....and it was free! Thank you. This time of year is alwasy hard finacially and parents do feel guilty if they can not afford to take their children to special things....it was a lovely evening!

St Clements Juniors

Thank you to every one who came and watched it was a brilliant atmosphere and the juniors on our float had a great time as well as out dancers. We hope the Polar Express got you all in the mood for Christmas. Thank you to all the parents and children for their hard work getting the float changed and ready for Christmas at to Trevor Le Brun for letting us have his shed for those extra months since battle it was very much appreciated. Thanks also to Duncan Langston at Waitrose St Saviour for allowing us to store the float till next year.

Finally thank you to every one who came to watch it was fantastic to see so many people :)
