Jersey Gas job losses on way, warn owners

News | Published:

STAFF at Jersey Gas have been warned that job losses are likely as part of a major reorganisation of its parent company.

International Energy Group, which owns Jersey Gas, Guernsey Gas and Manx Gas in the Isle of Man, has announced that it is to find savings across the three businesses.

Jersey Gas confirmed today that some redundancies are likely but declined to reveal how many of its 84 members of staff could lose their jobs.

John Davies, commercial director of IEG, said: 'As part of the restructuring of Jersey, Guernsey and Manx Gas, it is likely that there will be job losses in all three islands. The numbers are still being looked at and will be across the three islands.'
