Woman missing from Condor ferry is named

It is thought that Mrs Fenton may have fallen overboard between 4 pm and 4.30 pm during the crossing between Guernsey and Poole.

Rescue helicopters, planes, lifeboats, fishing vessels and the Condor Rapide carried out a five-hour search of a large area off the coast of Alderney after the woman’s husband reported that she had not returned to her seat.

The Portland Coastguard said that it had not resumed the search on Monday because of the considerable length of time that she would have been in the nine-degree water.
