Sharing is key to Education cuts, say secondary schools

In a letter sent to all States Members today, the governors support the Education Minister’s proposals to cut funding to fee-paying schools as a way of sharing the responsibility for making financial savings in the years ahead.

But they are also worried about the impact on education if fee-paying lobbyists are successful in getting the plans dropped.

In the letter, Katie Le Quesne, chairman of Grainville School’s board of governors, Anne Lane, (Le Rocquier), Julian Bernstein (Les Quennevais) and Rod Bryans (Haute Vallée) said that they were providing a voice for the thousands of parents who are feeling ‘increasingly dismayed’ about the lack of balance in the current education funding debate.
