Grouville win through to cup semi

And it was a little harsh on the Saints as they squandered two good opportunities in the first half when Martyn Samson nodded narrowly wide of a post and Jon Fitzmaurice failed to connect with his head with just goalkeeper Garry Lloyd to beat.

Dave Ibbotson showed great awareness to find a hole in Grouville’s defence and unmarked he nodded St Ouen into an early lead following a flowing move up their left and super ball in from Lucas Parker.

St Ouen continued to stroke the ball around well and have the upper hand but they failed to convert the aforementioned chances following some quality deliveries into Grouville’s penalty area.

Grouville play St Paul’s in a semi-final next Tuesday at Les Quennevais, kick off at 7.30 pm. Sporting Academics and Trinity play the outstanding quarter-final tonight, at the IJ Bathe Field from 6 o’clock, with the winners opposing Rozel Rovers in the other semi-final at Les Quennevais next Wednesday, kick-off at 7.30 pm.
