Saints sink the Scots

Craig Culkin and Martin Cassidy’s side had the game in the bag at half time following goals by Luke Watson, Craig Leitch and an own goal by Stephen McGinness.

Scottish finished the match with ten players as a result of Muratti striker Paul Aitken being sent off by referee Russell Barry following a comment the player made to assistant referee Andy Legg.

St Paul’s were well worth their win and it could have been more emphatic but they had two penalty appeals refused – one for a shirt pull and another for a handball – while Scottish goalkeeper Craig Fletcher produced several excellent saves; the best early in the game when he displayed fantastic reflexes to push away a close-range effort from Saints defender Luke McGlone.

Scottish, still adjusting with several new faces in their side, battled hard in the second half but rarely did they put St Paul’s teenage goalkeeper Peter Osmont under pressure.
