Brazilians await Island U13s in France

This is the eighth time the JFA has sent a team and as well as the football it is a cultural visit as pupils are hosted by French families in pairs.

The travelling party numbers 16 players and they will be accompanied by three Centre staff. All Jersey’s matches will be played at Plogastel in Brittany – one of eight bases across the region hosting a group of matches.

Jersey travel out on Wednesday and return on Sunday 24 May. While away they will play eight qualification games between Thursday and Saturday before the finals on Sunday.

COE director Paul Renton said: ‘We are really looking forward to the trip; we feel that this is a great development opportunity for the boys as they get to play against teams from around the world.’
