FORMER Jersey Footballer of the Year Peter Vincenti rubber-stamped Stevenage Borough’s trip to a Wembley Stadium final next month after scoring a late winner on Saturday afternoon.
Stevenage were hanging on to a 3-2 first leg advantage against Ebbsfleet United when Vincenti, four minutes after coming on as an 86th minute substitute, cut in from the right to fire low into the far corner with his left foot.
Vincenti’s strike turned out to be the only goal of the game and a 4-2 aggregate victory secured Stevenage an FA Trophy final appearance against York City on 9 May.
Stevenage’s victory also created a new club record of 21 games without defeat.
