JERSEY’S Primary School footballers drew 2-2 away to Guernsey last Sunday.
It was a thoroughly deserved result, despite Jersey having to wait until the final minute to equalise from a penalty kick by Jason Stokes.
Team manager Rob Cameron said: ‘I think Guernsey were frightened that they were going to lose heavily because Newbury beat them 10-0 last week while we beat Newbury 1-0 on our recent tour.
‘They put the game on a tight pitch and they bypassed their midfield by knocking the ball long. They scored early with a screamer into a top corner from 25 yards and they got a second on the stroke of half time.’
